hello
i'm a new member here so give me a soft landing here ppl :)

anyways ... i have this question :

recently bought s4 2.7bt with all sort of things inside ... but the symphony system rAdio is tuned on american kind of stations for example : you can tune it to 95.5 but not 96.6 - im talking about fm ofcourse ....
anyways ... any way to change it so it can listen to stations like 96.6 as well ?
through vag-com maybe ?
i know i"ll have all sort of other q's soon ... but for meantime ... that's enough ..
thanks in advance
tal.

Firstly, welcome to RS246 !

You mean you can't tune it manually to 96.6 ??

If 96.6 isn't being picked up by the auto tuning function, you should be able to tune it in manually without a problem...check the symphony manual for info on how to manually tune and store preset stations.

i know how to manually tune stations ... you turn the right rounf knob left-and-right to change it manually .....
but it can't pick up stations like 96.6, 91.8 , 99.0 , 100.0 , etc...... can pick up such as 96.7 , 91,9 , 100.1 and such ....

You're quite right. The radio you have is using American tuning steps (200 Khz instead of 100KHz). There is probably a way to change the unit between modes but it may involve changing firmware on the radio or some sort of reprogramming. By the time you find an expert to do this (who may not be local) it could be cheaper to find a second hand (European) model from eBay etc.

You may also find that the AM band tuning steps are 10KHz instead of 9KHz, this would confirm that the unit is set for US operation.

Sorry not to have better news...

If you need to replace the radio, try German E-bay. Make sure it is an 8E0 ... part number.
