Location of alarm siren?

Where is the alarm siren located on the Audi S4?
Mine doesn't seem to be working, no blips when car is unlocked/locked and no sound when alarm is activated.

in the boot behind the autochanger (have to take out the side carpet)
it's not a siren though, it's a small car horn type device.
Not all S4s do chirp when you arm/disarm, depends on how the alarm was coded

Is this horn type device the one that sounds when the alarm goes off?
If so and if it uses a normal 12v feed, I'm sure it can be replaced with an aftermarket siren.

Just to let you know its actually next to the central locking pump in the boot behind the carpet on the drivers side.
Back panel and side carpet needs to be removed first.
It also has NIMH battery backup built in...

Interesting, that's different to mine, but mine was a pre facelift.
...assuming yours is a post facelift car i.e later than 99 then that's another difference to add to my list.

yes its a facelift and even in ETKA its shown near the drivers side c/l pump.
