RS4 doesn't like Dido?

One of my Christmas Pressies was the Dido "life for rent" CD but it won't play in the RS4! I have the Bose Sat Nav Plus system with 6 pack CD changer, and it's in a Sept 2001 Car.

The disc plays OK in the Ford Focus as well as in the home system and the PC (albeit that in the latter it made me download a new player!)

In the car it recognises the correct number of tracks, and steps from track to track at about the right times per track but nothing comes out of the speakers. All other CD's (that I've tried so far) play OK in the RS. Has anyone else experienced musical dislikes?

...Paul.

I have exactly the same problem must be a copy protected cd or something. It plays fine in the dash single cd player but won't play in the 6cd multichanger!

Have you tried copying it to another CD to see:
1. If it will copy.
2. If it will play.

Just a thought

My Alpine CD changer kept on skipping the disc with Dido's album originally.

Then after a couple of times of trying to select it, it started to play, strange.

i have heard of this on the TT forum.

the copy protection interferes with the reading of some cds, in some players

copy protection isnt that much cop backup to HD first highest bit rate, then back to cd. and try that.

Copy protection that buggers up your system should be banned!
I would want a refund and maybe some compensation for my lost time and other costs!

Presumably it's not copy protection as I have successfully copied the tracks to a CD-R disc and all seems hunky dory

RS4 will have to learn to like her now! In so doing it seems to have lost the album, artist & trackname info (visible when I play it back on the PC) so perhaps that's the bit that screws the original in the RS.

(It's also forced me to get to grips with the CD Creation on the PC.)
