ESP Activation

With the icy roads earlier this week I noticed that when the ESP acticates the headlight dimmed momentarily. This surprised me so much that I backed off and then accelerated again and it repeated. This tells me that something about the ESP activation is quite a power drain, to say the least.

Has anyone else noticed this?
If it is a transient effect the alternator should be able to cope with, or a just normal?

Perhaps the obvious solution is to turn ESP off.

Yeah, my xenons flicker when ESP comes on, especially if its correcting loads of oversteer

I don't think mine do that, but then again the 6 does have a 110Ah battery (and probably a suitably sized alternator for it), so I'm not surprised about that.

Perhaps it's caused by the reduction in engine power output as ESP throttles it back?

I got up this morning to find 2" inch of snow had landed

My lights were flickering quite alot when the abs was activating under braking. I didn't notice it when accelerating and the esp was cutting back power.
