VAG-COM

Post by tartan_rob » Thu Sep 04, 2003 5:06 pm

I have VAG-Com but was looking to see if anyone had a list of what functions could be performed? I have already set my doors to lock automatically but what else can be done.

Also looking to know if anyone knows how to alter boost pressure from the tool?

Appreciate any info?

AFAIK adjusting the central locking is the only worthwhile change to make. The other main use for VAG-COM is checking DTC and logging sensor measurements, to either diagnose faults or check performance.

I am fairly certain that you can't change boost requirements from VAG-COM. This involves changing a fair few tables in the ECU. Firstly VAG-COM does not give access to these table, but secondly I don't think it has the capability to flash the ECU memory.

The only other *very* useful feature is the ability to carry out TBA's (throttle body adaptions). Would recommend that S4 owners (not sure if this appkies to the RS4) that this is done every 6 months to keep this particluarly sensitive part calibrated.

Defo, cannot adjust the boost via VAG-COM - you will get limited success by adjusting the N75 valve, but beware it is very fragile and you should only touch it on chipped cars that stutter under WOT - if it ain't broke, don't fiddle with it !
