Concert Radio not picking up stations?

Anyone got any ideas why my concert radio has stopped picking up the radio stations yet plays CDs ok.

If I select the radio all I get is Hissssssssssssssssss. If I try to search for a station it never finds anything. Yet hitting any of the preset stations gives you the theoretical station name and frequency but no station if you know what I mean.

Steve (Banchory Scotland) thought it sounded like one of the many ' control modules?' had packed in. Apparently a common problem?

Any ideas. Mechanical = yes Electrical =

I think that the aerial has its own power supply and fuse which may have blown

KCSUN is correct to an extent, the aerial does have its own power feed which is fed directly from the car stereo's feed.
Check the connections behind the unit and check if there is a supply to your aerial.
An alternative way is to remove ur stereo, power it on and tune it to a known strong radio station. Remove the old aerial connection going into the back of the unit and push a length of cable into the back of the unit where the aerial was,u should hear the radio, this should enable u to confirm that the aerial is at fault or not.

Cheers lads I'll check that out this weekend. Now all I have to do is talk nicely to the parts lad to give me the key to take it out.

I'll check if Halfords have it as noted from another post. I'm certainly not paying £16 for the Audi keys!

Hi Steve,

I look forward to hearing what it is. I'll be hard pushed to put it into Specialist cars.

The "Yellow Peril" is running just great thanks for asking. Last Saturday was top day out 'touring' round some great Highland roads kept far enough off your bumper, so no paint problems.

PS I take it it was just puddle water dripping from the beast
