Has anyone purchased a speed camera detceot lately (i.e. Origin Blue 2, Road Angel, Snooper 2)?

If so, what do you think of it and which one did you buy?

Bought Road Angel and very pleased with it so far. Seems to pick up all the fixed radar....not sure yet how well the laser detector works and perhaps more dubious about that. Easy to update. Would recommend it.

I have a Bel 990. It has been replaced by the Bel 550 Euro (Although, it's use is prohibited in some countries in Europe ). It's pretty good unit, can't really say that it has 'saved my bacon', but I think it has made me a more aware/better driver. It doesn't detect things like SPECS, or the new front facing cameras.

Have I got any points? No
Have I ever had any points? No
Do I drive like a granny? Probably

My personal consideration at the moment would be the Morpheus Geodesy Plus (GPS & Radar/Laser Detector), the Geodesy unit has a fairly good reputation amongst it's users.

Don't think it does detect laser, just radar. In any case, I suspect that laser detection, without jamming, is not very useful. An additional LR100 would do the trick!

The RoadPilot is a nice unit, and gives more info than the Geodesy, but it is more difficult to make it unobtrusive.

I've just been looking at installing the radar head for my RoadPilot and can't see an obvious location for it without obstructing airflow through the rads or intercoolers!

I wonder whether it would work behind a headlight - there's very little metal in those, these days, other than the silvering on the reflectors.

Opinions sought (on Wednesday?).

very true. reflectors and bezels are plastic and vacuum electro plated. The "silvering" is actually aluminium.

some of the modules (elipsoidal beams) are metal, but xenons units tend to be plastic too.
