Is it worth buying the latest 2003DX cd rom over the 2001DX cd rom the car came with, also would the 2003 cd have the 50m scale and other features mentioned in other threads.

Yes, those new facilities would be included on the 2003 disc. However, according to another thread, a new release is due within six weeks which will add the TMC functionality. It might be worth waiting for this.

You may need to upgrade your firmware to get 50m range, the 2003 data CD won't do this for you. See here for more info on Nav+.

Ah - sorry for the mis-information. I assumed that all these facilities were enabled because my RS6 came with the 2003 CD - I hadn't appreciated that a firmware update was also involved. At least the update installation doesn't look to be too difficult.

Completely understandable given Audi's lack of information about the subject. It would be nice if Audi UK employed at least one person down in Milton Keynes who could talk authoritatively about things like Nav+, TMC coding, data disc update periods etc.

My RS 6 came with a 2002 DX CD (even though 2003 DX was available). My software version is 0105, which is later than the version on the tvwiz site, but I can't find any new features so it's possibly just a maintenance release.

Don't feel too bad... My sat nav came with version 2 despite version 9 being available. I can get version 9 for 340 AUD extra. Talk about rip off..
