Bluetooth pairing on C6

Post by ivorsaunders » Wed Jul 16, 2014 7:43 pm

Hey everyone. Recently purchased a RS6 C6. For the life of me I cannot get my phone to pair with it. Both phones I have tried will not see the car. The car has the phone kit in the armrest and also has bluetooth options on the mmi. I went in and reset the settings on the "telephone" menu. Plus reset the settings in the "systems" menu.
Still when selecting telephone I can change the bluetooth pin and remove old devices but it gives me no option to pair or to make discoverable.

Am I missing out on something here.?

I did a search but couldn't find much

Sorted it. Had to turn the phone to 2g mode (GSM only)
Phone paired straight away.
Kind of annoying that you have to turn your 4G phone to a basic phone just to connect to the car

Sounds like the phone is disabling one of the Bluetooth profiles that the car kit needs when it's not in 2G mode.

Bluetooth is "self certified" so anything is possible really... (I spent 10 years designing mobile phones).

I had similar issues with a Samsung S6, it would only connecty to "GSM only", and turned off snapchat,Facebook and everything while connected. Fixed that by just removing the battery from the armrest Motorola unit, and just laid that phone in the glovebox. So now it cannot pair with the armrest-phone and will automatically choose my Samsung unit, and everything works as it should.
