Upgrading SatNav disk to 2013

I've just been in touch with Audi to see about updating the SatNav disk in the car from the 2008 disk that its had from new.....I was gobsmacked to be told it would cost £234 for it.

Is this normal??

Is there a cheaper way of updating the in car SatNav?

Any help would be appreciated as I'm not paying that kind of cash for an update.

Thanks.

Not sure if it makes much difference but I've got a 08 plate S5
Thanks again

If you've got an S5 then I guess you've got MMI and not the RNS-E. Just make sure the update can be done just by inserting a new DVD, on the later MMI versions the update is done using an SD card and IIRC needs authorising so it's not as simple as it used to be.

That's the normal UK price for an Audi sat nav DVD.

Cheaper way? - but off eBay (but make sure you get the right DVD, and that you get an original and not a copy).

Yep, checked in the boot and definately a disk required.....does anyone know which disk I'd need or is it as simple as an Audi 2013 disk? does it break it down into model or car?

Sorry for bugging

No it's not, Audi do different disk for MMI and RNS-E and you MUST get the right one - or you'll have bought an expensive coaster.

Best go into a friendly Audi parts department with your VIN or reg number and ask them for the part number, which they'll be able to look up on ETKA.
