As above the button on the key locks both the back doors and tailgate but not the fronts...you can lock the drivers door manually with the key but the passenger door is always un locked...also noticed the puddle and door lights also not comming on..I was obviously thinking fuse but according to the manual front doors are on a 10 amp fuse which I checked and is ok..any ideas...the car is a 59 plate s3 sport back..

sounds like a wiring problem taking out the whole harness section.
I would have expected all the door locks to be on the same fuse.
Worth checking the fuses for any blown ones.
Then it's a case of breaking out the multimeter and seeing where you have power to in the door wiring.

That's pretty poor for a relatively new and not cheap car. I would be tempted to bitch at Audi about it. Looms should not break down that quickly.

Was going to give audi a call..but phoned a fella I know who does auto electrics and he said he would do it for us for fifty quid and will do it tomorrow..so going that route rather than poncing about with audi...but agree it is poor to break down so soon...I did post last night that I googled it and it is quite common on a3 and a4s..but don't know where the post went..
