Blimey don't ask :FIREdevil:
I've had it over three weeks, got the unit fitted in the car and the car recognising it fine etc etc etc :jump_clap:

Then it came to the PC installation

Well basically I have come to the conclusion that I have a faulty cradle because no matter what I did the cartridge wasn't recognised, and only the red light was on.
So after 3 weeks of trying to get something by way of a reply out of Phatnoise's "technical support" (MAJOR joke of a title that is) I have, out of desparation, ordered a new cradle to see if this will solve it.

So when it arrives in a couple of days' time I'll let you know!

For anyone reading this (last post was some time ago) be aware that this is exactly what will happen if you don't supply the cradle with sufficient power. You may well have a power adaptor knocking about that has the correct voltage (unit is supplied with a US adaptor which isn't much use although I suppose you could run it off a shave point!) but check the ampage. I had the same symptoms - cradle not recognised - only the red light on - total frustration as I had sourced a correct voltage adaptor that plugged in. Turned out the current was too low - cradle requires 1000mA - min was only 300mA. Found a 1000mA one on the 'net and unit worked immediately. Just thought I'd type this up in case anyone else has the same problem...

And BTW, the unit itself is fabulous - highly recommended - bought mine from the US.

Yeah, the unit is good alright, though the hatch cover doesn't close flush with my install (B5 S4 sedan).
