For approx £150 delivered, I'm not too bothered. Maybe it is the 'Sales Channel' difference!
M3 CSL - Silver Grey, a few options.

It seems you got a good price! I've heard that both the Audi and VW are now out of prodution. I spoke to one supplier who is now knocking them all out for the same money.

They're now a bargain whereas before they were a very expensive luxury.

The fact that it's Audi? Mind you, I don't know why you lot complain about the price. What I paid to buy mine from the US 2.5 years ago doesn't bear think about now!

There's a few on ebay at the moment for £189 with all the kit and leads. Thinking about having a go at this myself.

Dean, I made a post a long time ago with some installation details I think...although it's basically just a couple of screws if you've already got the CD changer cable present in your boot...

I've got the CD changer in the boot so presume I just whip that out and replace with the phatbox? Will check out your posts, cheers Dave

Yep...it's that easy...

The only slight problem is the cartridge sticking out and therefore not allowing the cover to fit back on....I cut a hole in the cover that just allows the cartridge to be removed without opening the compartment, but I think some people have managed to push the phatbox further in... (though you have to be careful of the cables at the back if you do this..)

Great piece of kit though...use mine a lot and never had a problem with it.

PS. For Mac users, there's a nice little program called Phatmac that lets you sync your iTunes library to your Phatbox. :-)

forgive my ignorance (newbie) - what's the advantage of this piece of kit over an Ipod/Dension ICE Link, apart from it being an "OEM"-stlye piece of kit?

Just interested as I'm looking for an S4 Avant (B5), but already have an IPod setup for my existing car.... :)

Basically you don't crash!!

There have been a growing number of insurance claims apparently where people have dropped their vision down to try and read the small IPod display, taken their eyes off the road and had an incident. The main advantage of the Phatnoise is that it speaks everything you need. Additionally the installation into an Audi is a doddle. In my case I took the CD player out and plugged the Phatbox in.
