They're good eh ? - Have to say I've been impressed with mine...no problems at all. The computerised voice makes for some entertainment too...."Sade" comes out as "Sad"

Yep, had to make a slot in it for the cartridge. It is slightly protected due to the panel sticking out above the slot. Looks fine. Bit of a Blue Peter job as I wanted to get it done asap :D

I'm a bit confused :? here...if the track name etc isn't displayed how the hell do you know what you're putting on at any given time or is it just hit and miss (and memory perhaps)

Seriously considering one myself but if I never know what track I'm about to play I'm not so sure...

You only know which track it is playing by its number. The voice synthesis announces album, artist, genre etc.
I'm sure for full functionality you'd be better off with an aftermarket head unit but this is just such a simple plug and play option that it cannot be ignored.

As Ben says, you know what's playing because a voice tells you so...you get to choose different browsing methods (ie. you can browse by artist, album name, genre)....

So, when you're browsing by artist, it says "Now browsing artists, the current artist is 'Red Hot Chilli Peppers'" - if that's what you want, you leave it and it starts playing...if you want the next artist (alphabetically), you hit the next CD button...it then says "Sting" or whatver....

Very easy to use...the computerised generation of album/artist names can produce some funny results though

ah ok thanks guys, so it "announces" what you're doing/playing then, so at least you know where you are, out of interest how do you change from, for example, browsing by artist to browsing by track name (can you do that?)?

On the symphony head unit, the 1-6 buttons are used to select different browse modes...eg. 3 selects artist browsing, 4 selects album browsing....
