Well it's just that the AP22 isn't that accurate at measuring speed unless you start from rest and accelerate fairly constantly. The longer you leave it after you've set off the less accurate it gets.

This 30 to 100 is good overall performance measurement. It takes only 17 seconds in my case and I dont think that is too long.

I too switched to 4th gear early and nailed it at 1500rpms. Its hard for the gearbox but better than hard launching.

It will give some help to smaller turbo cars because they spool up earlier but you still have time to catch up as was the case with andiroo. I was ahead after 7 sec but then good bye.

See my ap22 dyno pic attachment in this post. I like the ap22 continious acceleration option so you get a lot of datapoints.

We do start from rest. It does not have to be constant but error margin rises thelonger the run is. 20 sec is not long IMO

Does it matter that my 4th gear is different to yours?

Bacically RS4 4th gear is a little shorter that in S4 so it will benefit RS4 slightly, but the biggest difference comes when K03s start to loose boost after 5000rmps and K04s keep on hauling.

Audi S3`s turbo kicks in at around 1000rpms quicker than yours

I wish my turbo kicked in at 2000 RPM

Yes well they should kick in around 2100rpms on the 210bhp engine and 2200rpms on the 225bhp model. IIRC

Look at my last attachment. 300lbft at 2000rpm is that soon enough.

I think the dip after the peak is clutch slippage

But my RS4 has a different gearbox than normal, having a higer 4th, 5th and 6th so I'll be at a disadvantage

how much higher. S4 4th gear is 0.967. Is yours higher than that?

Andy,
Indicates 418hp peak at the wheels, which when adding a factor of 42% = 593bhp at the flywheel.

The AP22 is about as accurate as my butt-dyno with wheel HP figures

sensored for S4 wannabees

Yep, not accurate enough unless one finds a flat road and configures correct values. But if used on the same road time after time its accurate enough to see differences with mods.

Now, go do some 0-200km/h runs. BTW my 402 meters was only 13.95 on that 17.9 run.

What I would like to do is to get some comparisons on a like for like basis

Do you reckon we could do this at Oulton Park ?
