RNS-E upgrade - TV tuner & bluetooth.

It was sold as an "H" so it better be!

I noticed this evening that it replaced the radio RDS name in the DIS with my wife's name when I was talking to her and with the number when I dialled someone not in the phone's memory, so it's communicating with the phone and CAN properly with additional functionality. Hopefully when I code it all then it will have the full RNS integration.

It should be, but if it' an ebay special, then you take the risk.

last year I got a A4 RNS-E from ebay as it was the part number on the case indicated it was the SDS version, when I bench tested the unit, it turned out to be an A3 internals, in an A4 case.. thankfully I got a full refund.

You've been unlucky then as out of the 200 or so I've bought installed I've never seen that.

But you see it all the time with RNS-E's as you said.

I bought an "SDS" version which was vanilla when it arrived.

Read the post again, he says he has an H module

Coding for RNS-E should be 00xxx7xx,
Coding for BT in an RS6 should be 0010722

What version of the Bluetooth module do you have? The following modules only have basic functions with the RNS-E

8P0 862 335 A
8P0 862 335 D
8P0 862 335 E

OK, I misted that bit of the post... But just because it's got H on the box, does not mean the internals are the H version. I've seen at least one box which was sold as M but had the D internals.

SDS? SD Slot? They come without?

I actually bought my RNS for the BMWNavi guy in Lithuania. I also bought a DVB-T module for my BMW from him a while back and it was fine also.

The BT came from another seller in Germany, he seems to have another one listed now.

SDS is an option dependant on model number, I have only ever seen one A6 unit with SDS, but all of them come with SD card slots

Speach Dialogue system, useless unless you have a Multi Function Steering Wheel, which RS6's don't have as standard.

Ahh, good. I'm not sure I'd get on with it anyway as I never even bother to set up voice dialling on my mobile.

I got my VAG-COM but I'm slightly short of a car to code as Ray West has been sick so didn't quite finish mapping my car today as he's a bit behind so I haven't yet sorted out my BT.
