TMC

That's good news for the other Europeans.... but not so good for UK based people.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: TMC
I have an 2003 S$ with the CD based sat nav and a TMC disk (2005 i think) - sat nav has classic FM as the station - how do i know if the TMC is working ? if i look into the report (text) it has stuff in there), on the main sat nav screen it has TMC in green but on the DIS it has TMC in red - does this mean TMC is working ?
Also what setting do i need to put in the sat nav regarding changing route for TMC ? if TMC is working witht he correct setting will the sat nav avoid the problem roads ?
Thanks

I don't think I've ever seen 'TMC' displayed in the DIS!
If there are reports in the info screen then yes, TMC is working. Check the routing options on the Nav - I think it should say something like 'auto' to get the re-routing working. Be aware that the licence only covers traffic info for the motorway network and you will only be re-routed if the Nav calculates that it will be quicker to divert off the motorway. Unless the hold-up is very severe, it's still usually quicker to stick with it, rather than divert. However, as you approach the tail-back you should get helpful messages like 'Traffic congestion ahead'
What I used to do when I had the CD system was to leave the screen on quite a large scale (eg.20 miles) - in that way you can see the red triangles on the map, showing areas of congestion, and make your own route decisions!
