The old (CD-based) Nav+ is type S, the RNS-E is type T. This from the Radio setup guide which is on the PhatNoise web site.

Yes but the issue is that you can't select the radio type without the SEEK button!

As I've said before, I managed to do it on my RS6, but I can't remember how. Now I've upgraded to RNS-E I can't go back to try it again! Sorry, not much help, but it definitely is possible.

You goto CD6, then press the fast forward button a few times until you hear the announcement for radio model, then repeat pressing the fast forward button until you hear type "S" (for RNS CD based system), and at that point you HOLD the fast foward button to select the model.
