I have a S4 Saloon and it fits in where the CD Changer was.....

For a bit more safety and protection of the cartridge I drilled two holes in the bracket and mounted it a little further back so that If something in the boot slid into it, it would not damage the Hard Disk....

maybe I will try get some pics...

Interesting. I've just bought Ben's. So I'll have a look at setting it deeper.

I would add that Gavsteryoung's salloon is a slightly different set up from the Avant, but the CD mount will be the same for all 6 stack CDs so I'd be surprised if I couldn't rig something unless the distance to the outer panel is greater on the salloon. I'll post when I know.

I agree, I think the Avants dont have the bulge out like the saloon, but I must say there is still another 1.5inch's of clerance at the back of the Phatbox.

Its just drilling one of the new holes is fairly difficult and would be harder still another inch back. It maybe possible to fabricate a small addition to the bracket.

Here's mine in my B6 S4. I removed the case and installed straight into where the 6CD was in the glovebox.

Just a warning for anyone thinking of buying a phatbox on ebay from rally959 :knob: . Don't i ordered on the 24th oct and after talking twice and sending sevral emails he was unable to supply the item or give a tracking number which i thought was strange, so i have canceled the order. I suspect he never had the item in the first place, i mean 10 days to get a item from england to scotland, i've had packages from the othere side of the world quicker.
So i 've ordered from an other seller that quotes next day delivery so fingers crossed

sounds good - literally? I'm confused as to why they are specific to Audi/VW - does that mean they cant be transfered from car to car?

My understanding is that the VW one comes with the Phatbox and the phatbox connection cable.

The Audi ones comes with the Phatbox, the phatbox connection cable and the cable from the head unit.

my brand new Audi Phatnoise didn't arrive with the head unit cable - just the unit itself and the connection cable.
M3 CSL - Silver Grey, a few options.
