RS6 C5 - JUST BOUGHT - NEW BATTERY NECESSARY?

Post by G-RS6-C5 » Tue Oct 25, 2022 1:52 am

I just bought a RS6 C5. I drove it home and the battery died when I tried to head back out... I also noticed while driving that the SUNROOF and WINDOW ELECTRICS were moving slowly and jerky, and the rear window needed manual handling to close.

As its an old car (2003) I was thinking to upgrade the window/roof motors as the alcantara interior is not worth risking in WInter!

Do you think it could be just an old battery? Is the battery worth replacing anyway as a new car purchase of this age?

Battery or alternator (or both). What is the voltage reading on the dash when the car is idling?

I wouldn't touch the motors. It won't be that.

The rear window will be a broken regulator, no doubt.

Check the fuse under the scuttle as well. Very good chsnce it's the alternator as Shopp says.
