Peter - I'm a little concerned that I might have done something wrong because my Phatbox just dropped straight in and didn't require any adjustment. What was it you had to hacksaw?
The original mounting frame had a vertical backplate behind the CD changer location. I cut this plate away in order to allow the PhatBox to be mounted further back in the frame.
Peter - did you have to cut a hole in the cover to allow the cartridge to poke through or did you install the Phatbox further back in the frame?
No, I didn't have to cut the cubby hole cover at all.
Peter - did you drill some more holes into the phatbox frame. I've only attached mine with a screw each side using the existing holes in the cartridge holder. I was quite tempted to drill another one on each side of the phatbox to line up with the the lower cartridge holder holes but it seems stable enough without it. Just curious what you did.
Yes, I drilled four new holes in the original mounting frame in order to mount the PhatBox far enough back to clear the cover.

Thanks for the quick reply Peter. I am quite tempted to take the install out again and move it back in the frame so I don't have to have cut the panel cover but I'm also reluctant considering the difficulty I had 1st time round and the fact that everything works fine as it is ... if it aint broke don't fix it.

Plenty of time to mull it over considering the weather outside - I might have to start sorting out a few more playlists.

Rich.

Okay. Just be aware that the positioning is fairly critical - far enough back to clear the cover, but not so far back that the cable fouls heavily at the back.

My instal has been working fine for over 2.5 years, so it can be done.
