Dynavin units for Audi

Post by Hozz » Sat Mar 12, 2011 3:11 pm

Just wondered if anyone had any experience of the Dynavin units that have appeared for the Audi's. The look pretty neat from the images on the website but would like to know if anyone has fitted one. I have the normal RNS-E in my RS4 and although it is OK, my missus would prefer a touch screen Sat-Nav plus the iPod and 3G integration looks very interesting so if the BlueTooth integration works well with phones then it looks like a possible winner.

AFAIK the Dynavin units don't have TMC in the UK as the manufacturers haven't paid the necessary licence fee to either ITIS or Trafficmaster. So you won't get any information about roadworks, accidents, queues, etc. and no dynamic navigation to route you to avoid those problems.

Thanks for flagging this up PetrolDave - quite an omission not having the TMC but I wonder if they get the 3G thing together, whether the unit will be able to use Google Maps and update via that.

Good luck trying to get a clear answer from them - they are very evasive.

This zenec unit has everything including dis although you have to pay for your own tmc licence. according to the manufacturer it is a straight fit onto our loom.
