Amplifier location in a S4 sedan?

Post by ajsl » Mon Apr 12, 2004 1:53 pm

Hi all,

If any of you have added an amplifier to your S4 where have you installed it?

I'm thinking of perhaps getting it mounted in the compartment above the CD changer where the tool box currently sits?

I was wanting a reasonably "stealth" install :)

The amp will most likely be an Alpine MRV-F340 if that makes a difference.

Cheers.

This may be a bit late, but the factory BOSE amp fits in behind the boot panel on the left. If you don't have the BOSE system, maybe the alpine amp will fit in there... :)

Thanks for that, as it turns out I've not done the upgrade yet. I'm tossing up a short shifter install now!

Careful here guys. My HiFi installer tells me that the current Audi's have an "Active" speaker set-up which is tuned for every speaker. He will not touch these unless the customer will allow him to change the speakers (I know!!! but this guy is very straight!). Fitting an amp and trying to feed the speakers from it has allways resulted in disaster.

One to check maybe anyway
