nice one! i downloaded the software but it said its the shareware version and i need a code to unlock it, have i downloaded the right software?

i'll have a look.

from what ive read, the hex lead you have will do everything for you. Ie it will "know" when its connected that its registered.

do you have the lead connected?

i think thats what it does, i've got the shareware version of the software, but instead of registering it and getting an unlock code, the lead does it for me so i can have it on as many computers as i like.. thanks for all your help paul, much appreciated mate [img]images/graemlins/thumbs.gif[/img] [img]images/graemlins/thumbs.gif[/img] i'll let you know when it arrives and is all working.. You can get addaptors that allow you to go from your rs232 port on the back its the 9 pin socket try pcworld options are a usb hub coming from the rs232 socket giving you 2-8+ usb sockets or a direct cable from the rs232 socket to the vag box. [img]images/graemlins/hatthing.gif[/img]
