Manual here

something to swap in the geodesy + for maybe, as i always thought the road pilot was too big for a clean install.

Ive sent them an email, to see possibility of a red lcd, or at least the choice of red or green switchable illumination..

Dear Paul

Thank you for your e-mail which has been passed to me for attention.

Having now had the opportunity to research this further I advise that the micro RoadPilot LCD screens are produced in the shade that you have already seen and to enable Morpheous to manufacture a different colour specification the quantity required would need to run to a few hundred.

Regarding your question on trade in we do offer a £100.00 trade in to existing Geodesy users if they would like to upgrade to the RoadPilot products.

I hope I have been able to assist you and please do not hesitate to contact me if you should require any further information.

Regards

sent them another asking if it can be considered for
all prospective buyers, not just a special batch...

still waiting on the technical directors reply. hes back today..

but in response to the idea that people could DIY change the LED's..
Hi Paul

I have had some feedback regarding the LEDs.

The backlight is made up of 5 LEDs on the LCD of the micro. However, they are extremely small LEDs, and so cannot really be changed manually - you would need a powerful magnifier to solder these LEDs.

Obviously, any attempt to open the case of a micro will invalidate the warranty and in addition, the case is glued together, so it is not possible to open the case without damaging plastics.

Hope this answers your question.

It might be possible to change these LEDs via one of the many outlets that change the LEDs on mobiles - here's a link.

regarding Morpheous making a red version.
Hi Paul

I have contacted our Technical Director with your latest enquiry and he has advised the following:

This has been considered as we often get different suggestions and requests, however, we are not doing or planning this at the current time, and may never do it. We would only seriously consider it at anytime soon if we received a firm order for something like 500 units and therefore we will inform you if there are any developments.

Hope this assists.

I wonder why they have not fully researched the consumer demand for Red fascias.

BMW dashes are a reddy orange and Audi are red - that's a lot of potential consumers.

Offering the consumer a product which looks to have been tailored to the car would surely prove attractive to many owners and provide a point of difference over the competition.

believe me i tried, and enlightened them tho this fact, as well as alfa's which are red,(im told) and vw which are blue with red detailing, that would also suit red.

Sven on tyresmoke was also pushing them in NL.

Green is just plain awful agains our red dash or vw blue one.
