Unable to read DVD (Satnav message)

This message comes up sometimes on the sat nav. I have cleaned the disc and now assume the laser head within needs to be cleaned. Is it easy to do does anyone know?

You can try a cleaning CD first, if that doesn't work then you can pop the covers off and clean using a cotton bud and isopropyl alcohol.

Having said that this is usually an indication that the laser is starting to fail.
Take a look over on http://www.audiforum.us in the RNS-E forum there. Two members on there, rabbit & Haaggie, sell kits of a new laser plus fitting instructions - this is a common problem!

Thanks Dave, I'll check out those options. Never tried a cleaning CD yet with any gear, guess I've been lucky.
