Disappointed with Bose!

Hi all,

Picked up my new S3 this week which had the bose system.

I don't know whether I was expecting too much but I'm very disappointed with the setup.

When listening to music, the sound seems to be comming from the rear. You can't hear the fronts that well! I have checked the fader and it is set to the middle position.
Is this normall?

I tried the adjusting the fader and the bass disappears when I fade it to the rear! When I fade it to the front, I get the front speakers and the sub. Should this be the other way around?

I'm confused!


I had a Mk4 Golf before the S3 and the sound on that was much better.

Is my bose system sh*gg*d?

Hi Dicky welcome to RS246, Im not sure whether ur expecting to replicate a live concert in ur car but rest assured the Bose sound system is very good in the S3. I have it mine and am very happy with it. However, its not very impressive when using the original Audi HU but replace it with a decent aftermarket one and u will (hopefully) change ur views about it.
Ive fitted a Pioneer Sat Nav/DVD system with a DAB tuner and am running the the original Bose speakers, sub and amp and it sounds very good, a 100 times better than the stock HU could ever produce. Plenty of bass and sound staging is excellent too.
Best thing to do is to listen to another Bose setup in an S3 and see if its the same as yours of so then u have the answer, if not then u know where to go.
