I think I have a problem with the fuel gauge sender. After a search I know other people have found the earth wire on the sender can break.
The DIS read 0 miles left so I put in 15 litres. Got back in the car and it still reads 0 miles and the gauge doesn't move off the bottom. So I drive round the block in case it needs some time to adjust and then put in another 15 litres. The same.
Is this a problem with the sender? Does the miles left also work on the senders output?
Car is a 2004 2.7 twin turbo allroad. (A B5 S4 in drag)

RE: Fuel gauge not working
Sender is an easy fix and cheap too. Hardest part is ensuring all the pipes are not going to foul the sendor as it is lowered into its cradle - and of course, not lighting a fag as you are doing the job....
Sounds like that is the culprit. You can run a check on VAG Com to confirm instruments are okay. Complete an instrument test sequence.
