Would you like traffic camera alerts on your factory satnav?

I have a friend who's keen on adding this functionality to the CD-based and DVD-based VAG sat nav systems and he would like to have a look at the file structure to see if it is possible to incorporate speed camera sites as itinary points. Yes it's a long shot, but he has the skills to decompile s/w and knows just about everything there is to know about sat nav programming.

He is looking to borrow a CD or preferably a DVD disk for a few weeks - let me know by PM if you can help.

The only problem I cound think of unless I've not RTFM properly is that you would have to look at the nav + screen to spot the POI as it's not announced unlike others

I uploaded these as points of interest on a portable satnav and it bleeps when approaching a camera point. Maybe that would be an option?
