GALA/Audiopilot control

Post by tuscy » Sun Nov 19, 2006 6:09 pm

I have a 2004 S4 with a Symphony II head unit and Bose.

The speed sensitive volume doesn't appear to be working, my previous car was a '97 2.8 Avant where it worked perfectly.

Not sure whether I have GALA or the Bose Audiopilot but I've read that it is possible to disable the volume control and I can only assume that it is currently disabled.

Does anyone know how I switch it on/off from the Symphony II head unit?

If you have a GALA or DSP entry in the menu - then GALA is enabled.

You may need to check the coding of the Symphony II using e.g. VAG-COM.

My 2003 S4 had the old version of Bose which had GALA, but my 2004 S4 has Bose with AudioPilot - not sure when the changeover happened.

To access GALA setting, turn off the stereo, then turn back on holding TP in. Then scroll through and adjust as needed. GALA at 5 is max.

Yep - tried the TP button thing a while ago and it does nothing!

That's when I thought that I may have Audiopilotand it's either switched off or knackered.

Sounds like a dealer job.
