Traffic Camera detectors?

Post by Trango » Mon Jul 10, 2006 10:22 am

Any suggestions anyone? Assuming there is no third party software that links into Audi's SatNav to warn of fixed cameras? I guess without even TMC working, cameras are way down the list! Have seen the RoadAngel product which looks ok, wondering what else is out there in the mrkt.

I think it's appalling that a car costing £50,000 with an expensive SatNav add on optional extra still doesn't have the same functionality as a £300 or £400 TomTom which then requires drivers to buy addional GPS units such as the Road Angel or Snooper.

I have an original RA, would advise to read plenty of reviews before buying a Snooper (previous GPS units not so hot), I would personally go Origin B2 or whatever their latest equivalent is.

I just installed an origin b2 solo at the weekend. Would highly recommend it over everything else I have tried (including snoopers and road angels). Personally, would go for the regular origin b2 if I was buying again, although both that and the solo have identical functionality.
Got it off ebay brand new for £150, although warranty is only 28 days on units not bought through a genuine reseller. Regular price is around £275 now I think (with 2 year warranty).

I have experience of Road Angel and TomTom with camera database and Road Pilot. The RoadPilot Pro is by far the best option in my opinion.
