Rod bearings

Hi,
As part of my S2>RS2 mods I'll be replacing my rod bearings. The early 3B rods were fitted with a single metal shell, unlike the later ABY/ADU which have a three metal variety. I've been recommended to upgrade the shells to the later type and noticed a few owners have opted for a pair of upper shells in each rod. The reason for this is that the uppers are constructed from a harder material than the lowers. Has anyone tried this or could advise me if it's worth it on a 350 -370 bhp upgrade?
Cheers,
Steve.
