RS6 Performance Insurance

In advance of my car hopefully arriving July / August time I was just getting initial insurance quotes and thinking if I add it onto my Admiral Multicar policy.
I used a comparison website to get some initial quotes to compare to Admiral and I nearly fell off my chair, as the cheapest quote I've been able to get is over £3.5K!!! That's at 5K miles per year, fully comp, garaged, one driver, 18 year NCB.
A reference for me is this is £2K more than I'm paying for my 2022 Porsche GT3, which is worth a lot more, quoted at the same address and details and I would have thought sits in a similar bracket in terms of insurance group and / or nickability
Am I missing something or has anyone else got any quotes yet?

Lem, you got me in a panic as my car is on the boat. A quick comparison on meerkat got me £1800’ish, which I think is about £600 more than a quote for my current RS6 vorsprung.
I’m sure I can get it down a bit, jealous of 992 gt3

Was about £800-900 for me with Admiral, in semi rural Norfolk, 10k, no naughtyness, parked on drive, over 50

And 20+ years NCB, no additional trackers etc

Just hit the big 50. Maybe it goes up after 50
Out of interest I've done a few more quotes just because I was curious. BMW M5 Competition was around £1400, G63 AMG was around £1800, Porsche 992 911 Turbo S (had one before my GT3) was around £1300, however I ran one for a R8 V10 Performance and that was £4500!!!!
Just think the comparison site with the Meerkats may not like insuring Audi's in sunny Buckinghamshire!
Ill just have to hope that adding the RS6 wont be as bad using my Admiral multicar policy when the time comes to insure it!

The GT3 is an absolutely amazing car and I love it, but its loud, bumpy and not the most practical car. However having done a recent road trip and 8.5hrs in the seat I got out fairly awake still. Deaf, but awake.
Point to point, whatever the weather I still miss my RS6's

The best I heard was a RR sport, where the excess in London was £50k !! I think RR are soo easy to steal that they are almost uninsurable

I went with elephant in the end. They are basically admiral (its the same company).
C8 RS6 Vorsprung - 36years old - 10k per annum including business. Driveway.
£1100 and this was reduced £150 with ghost 2.

Car insurance
Old RS6 renewal £850
New RS6 performance best price £2500
Tracker would save £14!

That can’t be right?

Most quotes tended to be around the £3k mark!!
No claims or convictions so I don’t know what’s spiked the price. I went through all the usual suspects, lots of the brokers weren’t interested as I only have one car. I’ve had powerful cars for the last 20 years and live in leafy Surrey. The explanation I kept getting was the value of the car exceeding £100k and the fact that parts and repair costs had gone through the roof.
I was quite shocked what a negligible impact a tracker has. The only slightly left field thought is that we’ve had to claim on the house insurance twice last year due to a leak and an exploding shower screen, but that’s should be completely independent, unless claims of any kind impact the postcode rating?
I’ve also just had a quick go at playing with postcodes, putting my parents address in Sussex. Still £2k?? Must be something to do with me? As a 47 yr old with 14 YRS NCB, I’m not sure what

Try Audi insurance.. came back with the best quote of £640 compared to nearly £1k from others.

Again, something is wrong here.
I have just put your car through on elephant as suggested above as follows:
36yr old male. No additional drivers. Driveway. 6k per annum, 14 years no claims. Only £350 excess
My quote is £1500 without adding the wife or tracker yet.
On the elephant site you can’t select Rs6 you have to select A6 then the RS6 performance is listed and you can go through.
Good luck!

These numbers are crackers. How do the quotes looks Perf Vs non-Perf?
Quotes here are more than I’ve paid for any car ever, in fact more than I’ve paid for all our cars in totality.
