Finally in my RS6

Well after a truly terrible wait for my factory order Carbon Black car I cancelled and bought a 'nearly new' Tango Red Vorsprung with 4k on the clock. My wait was going to be in excess of a year and I simply couldn't wait (my apologies for moaning in the other threads).

I came from a C8 2.0tfsi Black Edition (also in tango red) so the car is actually very familiar but also very different at the same time. The sound, the power, the presence have met all of my expectations.

I have had the car a week now and I have a few questions for other owners in the know.
  • Kids Seats - My kids seats seem to squeeze into the headrest. Do the rear headrests raise (if feels like they should) or is there a good seat protector available?
  • The car seems to revert to 'Auto' drive mode at every start. It doesn't seem to stay in 'efficiency' for example or 'RS1' I assume this is normal.
  • Can RS1 and RS2 mode have a different display? I'd like RS2 to have the full runway layout but RS1 have the standard clocks.
  • What do you guys do fuel wise. Running on V-Power at the moment; I assume Bp Ultimate is ok. Is anyone running the supermarket supers?
All in all the car is wonderful! Delighted to say the least.

Looks great and glad you are enjoying it.

To try to answer those questions:

Kids seats. Mine are too old for car seats and so I can’t help you there.

Yes you need to press RS1 every time you get in. I never use any other mode than this and is set to Dynamic for all options apart from suspension on Comfort.

As far as I know, RS1 and RS2 have the same race display that can’t be changed.

I am not too fussy about fuel it always use the higher grade. Usually BP due to garages near me.

Couple more additions:

Kids Seats - If I remember correctly the headrests do raise and actually come out. You need to raise them to the top level, then there is a little hole in one of the round headrest holders at the side you need to press something small like a screwdriver in and this releases the headrest to be removed. Then the car seat sits flush against the seat back

'Auto' drive mode is the default at every start from what I can recollect

Fuels wise I've been a fan of either Shell V-Power, Tesco Momentum or Esso Supreme 99+. I think it also depends where you are in the Country as the Esso Supreme isn't always available at all stations

Looks lovely.

My RS1 & RS2 displays are exactly the same, I assume on the new cars the displays are highly configurable?

Petrol wise in afraid I just stick in the standard Tesco stuff 😱

Cheers

Michael

Well thank you very much gents - that seems to answer all of my questions.

I'll have another look at the headrests as I couldn't seem to get them to raise. As they are at the moment my kids seats are going to ruin them!

You may well be right on the headrests, I cant 100% remember, but that would be the standard process for them if they actually do move upwards

Re headrests

My 2022 C8 Vorsprung had one outer rear seat headrest that moved and one that didn't. I took it in to the dealer and they said that it was indeed a fault but not the one I thought.. They said that the two outer headrests shouldn't move and that the one that was moving was actually the faulty one having not been fitted correctly!! The centre headrest should move.
