Driver Assist ECU Fault

Post by mikeyw » Sat Sep 03, 2022 10:52 am

I must be cursed. 5 days after having the rs back after 8 weeks off the road I get a bunch of errors as I’m driving. SOS failure headlight failure etc. Into the dealership to be told Audi are aware of an issue and there should be a fix in Q4....car now off the road again and my tether is wearing thin......anyone else had this ?

Agreed. If it wasn’t rejection time before it is now.

As I’ve had it over 6 months the dealer says that I can’t reject it......conversations with Audi executive office about a car exchange are ongoing

Whose the dealer? I was at Guildford the other day and mentioned your debacle, the person I spoke to was shocked.

I think I’d be taking legal advice, I’m surprised the Audi executive team are not so over this.

I’d be throwing my toys squarely out my pram at this stage!!

I have been chatting to our lawyers but hoping to avoid that route if I’m able. I’ve had some ‘goodwill’ money agreed for the previous issues but I think this current issue takes it to another level.

All I want is another rs6 of equivalent spec. And to not be out of pocket in getting it. And for someone at Audi uk to agree it’s not an acceptable level of reliability.

It’s impossible not to consider this a Friday afternoon rs6 now that’s for sure.

Hi, Does the Driver Assist ECU include functions such as side assist and exit entry warning system, intersection assist and rear cross-traffic assist and audi pre-sense?

If so, I think mine might be playing up, because whenever there is even the slightest bit of spray on the road, the dashboard tells me there is a fault with them and to contact the workshop. Audi had a quick look when it was in for service but they couldn't find out what the issue was, so it's going in again this week for a more detailed investigation.

I have this too - whenever its bad wet weather, all the pre-sense sensors go offline when you're driving. I took it to Audi and they said "can't find a problem" until i insisted they check and they did a software update. Of course, we had a dry spell, but i did drive it in France last week and it rained heavily, and hey presto all the sensors went offline again. I'll book it back into Audi as soon as I can. Very annoying. Seems to be a common issue as there's other forums with similar posts (Audizine).

Mine does the same, it’s a ‘feature’ they don’t work in rubbish weather

I spoke to the general manager at my local dealer who unofficially stated that basically the system throws these errors when it can't operate at its normal state. Unfortunately its a safety "feature" i.e. it's basically saying don't rely on the safety systems in bad weather. Not ideal and not the best customer/driver feedback either.
