Car braking by itself

Since the nights have been drawing in, I’ve noticed that if I’m coasting downhill and the car approaches the speed limit, or you’re entering a lower speed limit, the car applies the brakes without driver intervention. I can see this from the brake light reflecting in the rear window. This is without adaptive cruise engaged.

Has anyone else noticed this? I’ve not seen it mentioned anywhere in the owner’s manual.

What driving mode are you in? Efficiency does this a lot, you can disable predictive assist somewhere in the settings which will also take care of it.

I’ve seen it happening in Efficiency and Auto driving modes. Driver assistance is set to max. It doesn’t bother me too much, I was just surprised it was happening as I hadn’t read about it anywhere.
Glad it’s not just me.

Yes, it is adapting to speed limits. Bit annoying if you have it on assisted drive and a car is parked on the side of the road, mine brakes for that.
