My insurance company require a tracker to be fitted. I like the Metatrak S5 Deadlock, however I asked the Audi dealer if fitting one would affect warranty. Their response was that anything that is wired in to electrics for immobiliser purposes etc. could void the warranty if it came to claiming.
They then took the opportunity to push their approved option at an inflated price, the Vodafone S5 VTS, which doesn’t have as many options as the Metatrak or others such as remote immobilisation.
Has anyone come across this issue?

Just have fitted what they recommend. Easy!
Re: Trackers affecting Audi warranty
That’s what I’ve had to do, but the annoying thing is that it wasn’t my tracker of choice.
Re: Trackers affecting Audi warranty
i usually go for insurance companies that don't require a tracker for them to cover the car

Re: Trackers affecting Audi warranty
I had loads of trouble getting insurance without a tracker when I first picked up my car new so hence had one fitted (Audi Vodaphone)
Not needed one for insurance since but as it’s only £159 for the year I’ve kept up the subscription this year.
Personally I only have one because at the time I had to have one.
Don’t care what the details are and if car gets stolen so be it.
Wouldn’t want it back after it had been stolen TBH anyway!!

Re: Trackers affecting Audi warranty
My dealer is actively promoting the meta track now so I can’t think warranty will be an issue
