Milltek Problem

Hi all - had a Milltek fitted in the summer to my C8 and developed a problem in the last couple of days.

Basically the valve on the passenger side of the exhaust currently has a mind of its own, opening and closing randomly even when on idle, while the driver side one only opens and closes as it supposed to as per the exhaust setting. Its constantly doing it, occasionally staying shut for a few seconds then opening again, then immediately shutting again, then opening again (you get my drift)

Means that as I drive along I have the exhaust sounding loud / quite / loud / quite ever few seconds etc for any journey. Which is bloody annoying!

Seemed to first happen after about 45mins motorway run. I have used some WD40 to see if that worked and the value was clogged up but to no avail. Probably going to have to go back to where I had it fitted (as it will still be under warranty) unless its a quick fix and someone else has experienced it before?

Yes, but as per their website 'having purchased products directly from an authorized Milltek Sport dealer, all warranties must be handled initially by that dealer'

I'm not going to argue on that one given my current situation :bigblink:

If you bought from authorized dealer try contact them, for me personally it’s strange, how new exhaust can have issues, I own Miltek none resonated exhaust on my c7 rs6 since 2016 autumn and have no issues, only one flap year ago started not closing correctly, but i am using from time to time wd40 so it helps

Have you checked the connector to the flap, maybe undo and re-seat it, see if that helps.

Yeah, it all looks ok, and I would expect (but I'm no expert) that if it was disconnected then the flap would be either open or shut, and not continuing to do its merry dance of open, close, open, close every few seconds. I sound like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang driving down the road.

Its going in Friday to the place I had it fitted to see if they can remedy it

Yep that’s the best you can do, did you checked (scanned) any error codes ?
