Struggling to find what oil to add, does anyone know if these are these delivered with 5w40?

Mine came with a bottle of Shell Helix Ultra 0w-30

Ordered from dealer but it's 0w-40 weirdly

It’s a special 0w/40 as I just ordered some too

I was surprised it’s used the oil already.

How are you all getting on with oil usage ?

Does that mean I’ve got the wrong stuff in the boot? I got a bottle with the car 0w-30. Not needed to use it, but want to make sure if i do im topping up with the right stuff

I no would double check. I called the parts department and they had to speak to the mechanics and find the correct oil. It’s definately a 0W/40

I do think it depends on how you drive it, but I remember the C7 RS6 used quite a bit.

Yeah I also got the same left in my boot, I think its still OK to use but as an emergency, then its an oil change - The stuff I got from Audi I am guessing I can pour away as much as I like!

The oil is
0W/40
51100 Spec

With a bit of Google help found the following oil to be VW 511 00 approved

Mobil 1 ESP X3 0W-40

I’m a bit confused about engine oil now, my old C7 was 0W 30 and I’ve got a few litres of the stuff in the garage. I’ve changed to an S63 coupe and note that the recommended oil is OW 40 as with the C8. I’d have thought the higher viscosity oil would be better for performance engines. Not sure it will matter too much over winter, but I guess we can all look forward to cheaper oil servicing now!!!!

No, I think the recommended oil for the C8 is 40, just as it is for my new motor. I’m wondering why the lower viscosity oils are now the default, seems strange to me. I don’t think using a higher viscosity would harm but there must be a reason why these twin turbo V8s are now running on 40 wine.

My electronic oil level has gone down by 1 mark after 1600 miles. How much is required to bring the level back to maximum?
