RS6 C8 on New Top Gear

Post by Jezzer » Wed Sep 16, 2020 11:58 pm

Saw that a RS6 C8 in Red will feature in the new series of Top Gear to be shown in the autumn. A brief clip showed it powering out of a race track corner with presumably Chris ‘Monkey’ Harris at the wheel. I wonder what their reaction will be on the car. Looking forward to watching it.

reckon they will say they love the car but not as exciting or raw as the original RS6.... always has to be a negative!

I suspect Harris will direct toward E63.

To be fair I think most people would have gone E63 if it didn't look like you are transporting a <beep> coffin about.

True, but equally there’s a whiff of Kryton in Audi’s styling now. They’ve lost the plot since B8/C7. As for the SQRSQSQ8, that’s full bore chavtastic. Makes an SVR look subtle.

I’d take BMW’s styling of the three.

Ha love the Kryton refernece, its spot on. Agree with the BMW comment, but they can sometimes be a little too unassuming, if your parting with 100k you may want it to look a little less like a 520d then they do now.

I prefer the more aggressive looking models so M3 over the M5 looks wise, but would rather still have the M5.
E63 looks like a European taxi though.

Only problem with an M5 is £100k + to buy new, next year only worth £60k.

All three depreciate like a stone. As long as you’re not paying list on any, which you shouldn’t, it’s less of a kick in the nuts.

You can get a nearly new M5 Comp for £65k. That's where my money would go.

Looks though are probably the first consideration for when buying a car not necessarily how fast it goes or how well it sounds. It does with me.

If it were solely looks you’d not buy any of them. The C8 is no looker!
