Anyone chipped yet?
Re: Anyone chipped yet?
Yeah, occurred to me too. The hypercar world does OK with mega torque and dual clutch. It’s all doable. Appreciate there’s a compromise on price.

Spot on.MikeFish wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 8:17 pmI thought he meant the torque limits. Audi's DCT is not used on their high torque cars. I appreciate Porsche have managed to make their PDK capable of high torque loads now and could be borrowed for the Audi range but I'm sure it would bump the price up of the Audi's to a level that would make them uncompetitive with their rivals. And the difference would not be huge, as the ZF8 is a very capable slosh box.

Those all piggyback systems are a joke, real deal is remap
Re: Anyone chipped yet?
Remap is a joke, the real deal is a built engine and new turbos. All depends on what you want.

Re: Anyone chipped yet?
To be fair piggyback parameter fudge is dubious at best. Why anyone would plug that into a 100k of car is beyond me.
Re: Anyone chipped yet?
They usually go quite a bit under on the boost, hence why the remap gives you more.
I find the cars lack a bit without them installed. Used them for well over 10 years and love it, but its all personal preference.

Re: Anyone chipped yet?
Piggyback never going to produce same quality power as proper remap, every car is individual, it’s been already talked for ages that piggybacks not the same as remap.
I think those who have warranty car should stay away from any piggyback or reman, because it will void warranty and Audi dealers will see TD1 code

992TTS vs Rs6 isn't really a fair comparison though, and the 911 will beat most supercars in that dept and is marketed at an entirely different customerdoodlebug wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 2:57 pmCompared to the best double clutch offering it’s slow. And in the traffic light Grand Prix contest it’d lose horridly to a 992 TTS which is king of that trick.howie1972 wrote:Not sure what you mean? My gearbox is far from slow! Had many fast cars previously - this is equal to pretty much all of them, if not better.
Slush box vs PDK becomes more relevant on a track or out in country roads with corners where you want the downshifts to be faster and more on demand. In a traffic light GP, up to say 3rd gear, the difference in shift speeds between PDK and Torque Converter auto are still only fractions of a second in reality

Re: Anyone chipped yet?
Fyi been running the chip a few weeks now - no problems, you can definitely feel the extra torque well worh the £500 punt.
Only downer is the install - took about 40 mins.

Mine going into QST tuning next week for stage two with Milltek downpipes. est 750bhp, i didn't wanna go to dms as had terrible map from them on an m4 years ago and huge over inflated happy dyno figures, they are well known for it. And yes you risk warranty when you do it.... as if Audi want to dig deep, they will find evidence of tune even if removed, so dont listen to DMS saying it will be fine if they remove before a warranty visit. I HAD to map my rS7 as to me it feels dog slow stock, My previous M5 f90 was stage one 740 bhp, and even stock, my draggy times in M5 destroyed the RS7. The gearbox is dreadful on the RS, after having the f90 for a year, that had lovely snappy sharp responsive box , this audi has to think for a second before it does anything, and just feels flat as a pancake mid range. The gearbox will be retuned too so fingers crossed help it. Hoping the tune will make me like it or ill be moving it on and back to BMW for an M8 comp as miss the power and that sharp responsive gearbox.

Also came from an F90 and the box is definitely better on the BMW. They both use the ZF so you would be interested to see if the tune helps!Leeadam wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 4:13 pmMine going into QST tuning next week for stage two with Milltek downpipes. est 750bhp, i didn't wanna go to dms as had terrible map from them on an m4 years ago and huge over inflated happy dyno figures they are know for it.
