Running in a brand new C8

Post by Jezzer » Tue Sep 08, 2020 4:49 am

Should get my car tomorrow, which is earlier than I thought. Just wanted to confirm if there are any running in procedures with these as I was told it is quite critical that for the first 1000 miles or so they are treated very gently.

Nardo Grey RS6 Performance 605 PS. Titanium
Misano Red RS4 B8 450 PS

Was told to just go gentle for the first few hundred miles particularly on the brakes / tyres. I think the engines are bench run before they are fitted anyway.

I basically took it gentle initially, increasing the revs etc over the first 600 - 1000 miles making sure it was warm before I put my foot down.

Im now on about 5K miles and the engine has definitely loosened up over that time
Current:
2024 R8 - Daytona Grey
2023 Mercedes G63 AMG
2022 SQ5 - Grey

Most recent Audi
2020 RS6 Vorsprung - Sebring Black
2017 RS6 Performance - Ascari Blue
