Struggling to get Launch Control to work. Definitely I am doing something wrong. Should there be some indication that Launch Control is set?

I have been following the manual as per attached without luck...



Any suggestions are appreciated.

Why bother? Isn't it quick enough without LC? Wonder what that does to the transmission?

It doesn't work because you don't have launch control.
It states right there on your screenshot: "Applies to: vehicles with S tronic gearbox and launch control", which you don't have.

Automatic gearboxes don't have launch control, only DSG ones. On an automatic, like the ZF8, the best you'll get is brake torqueing but you basically just holding the force of the gearbox on the brakes.

Nothing Confusing about it.. The manual is a generic manual for the S and RS models.. The S6 has a S-Tronic gearbox, which the launch control instructions relate to.. As Mike has said the RS6 is a Fully automatic (ZF8) Tiptronic gearbox which has a torque converter and does NOT have launch control.. Simplez.

a, pretty sure they do have launch control - I will speak with my dealer and revert!

I wouldn't trust a thing a dealer says.

If they do have a launch control feature then all it is, is holding the engine against the brakes, not a proper launch control.

I should think it just gives faster shifting with the ZF box, same in the M5

I'd be disappointed if fastest shift times were not available to me whenever in Dynamic mode.

Probs too much load on her for everyday driving

Btw I have just picked up my c8 and it launched first time .

Dynamic mode
Traction control in sport
Foot on brake 1 sec then floor accelerator

Cheers, so far the car seems good - although the nippers are fuming Audi don't offer rear entertainment.
