Afternoon All,

Just been speaking to the Head of Business at my local dealer who says the RS6 production has been halted and is possibly not expected to start again for another year - anyone else heard this ??

Nope, have not heard anything about it and have been talking RS6 with a couple of dealerships in the last week.

Did he mention the reason for this hypothetical halt?

I asked why and all he said was he couldn't answer that question... seems very odd to me as I couldn't find anything about it online either plus the configurator is still up and running.

They need to hurry up and get a performance model launched!!

It’d not be surprising. Porsche are reducing their numbers second half. I can’t imagine there’s mega demand for the RS6, may make sense to reduce numbers.

Haven't heard that at all. US customers are getting their order approved right now with production dates in the next couple of weeks.

Perhaps production designated for some regions is being slowed to allow for other regions to get their production allocations fulfilled.

There has been a delay due to the factory being shut, I was lucky to pick mine up on Thursday, it was a dealer build, same spec as mine, that arrived in the port before lockdown, just stuck awaiting transport to dealer.
My original order is due for build and is scheduled to enter production on the 29th June ( pre lock down, it was an early April)

When did you order your car? I ordered mine on the 26th February and the order is still stuck at the welcome stage, I've not even got to the order received stage yet!

Back in November.

I suspect you are in for an long wait, I’d guess at October. Have you been given a build week?

Nope, nothing, nada. I'm fairly relaxed about when it comes, as long as it's this year. There are rumours that VAT may be reduced later in the year, which on a £100K+ car makes a difference.

Indeed, but if we go onto WTO rules you will see 10% in import tax if you can't get the car before end of January.

It is what it is. I note that the Audi website states under their Covid-19 FAQs;

"If my new vehicle order is late will this affect the price and tax and, if so, how?

The purchase price of your vehicle won’t change but it may be subject to an increase in VED (Vehicle Excise Duty) as these rates went up on 1 April."

However we all know that the chances of them honouring this are fairly small come January of next year.

MY2021 has just come onto the dealer configurator today so it’s looks like you can order one. No changes on options but the price has gone up, £3k on the Vorsprung and between 2k & 3k on the standard and Carbon Black depending on if you order the comfort and sound pack which has increased by £400 to £2295.
