Finally picked up Vorsprung

Post by 2 5HAN » Sat Mar 28, 2020 2:36 pm

Apologies meant to post the other day but CoronaMadness and all!

So I managed to collect my car just literally as shut down hit the country.

The car actually arrived in late January but I delayed it till March and took the opportunity to get the detail and wrap sorted as well. It a Vorsprung in Mythos Black but now has a Wet Satin Wrap which I think helps the lines

First impressions are WOW, for a large heavy car you genuinely don’t feel it. I went for the Ceramics and wow they are HUGE.

Haven’t been able to stretch it’s legs fully but you can certainly feel the potential there as well as it’s willingness to get going from any speed and from any gear. The handling is really nicely balanced giving a great road feel.

The driving modes are very easy to use and gives you a massive choice.

The engine shut down whilst driving is strange but I need to learn a bit more about as I’m sure it may be something I can adjust or stop.

I had in my head that I 100% wanted an exhaust however the more I drive it the more I can hear it finding it’s voice. Did a drive by for the kids and a pull away and it’s certainly louder from the outside than the impression it gives you from the cockpit. With the current shutdown I may have learnt to love it by the time making a trip to the garage is reality.

Need to get some miles on it now !

First time post.

Thought you'd be interested in an Ara blue Vorsprung example.

I picked up the car at 4.30pm on Monday and the Audi garage closed it's doors at 6.00pm!

My impressions mirror yours, the inside dash and systems are light years ahead of my previous C7 and the stock exhaust was surprisingly good considering I had an Akrapovic on the C7.

Not driven it much for obvious reasons but I've spent hours just sat in it.... pretending!

The Urus had them first, and a few VAG flagships have them too, but at 440mm they're the biggest brakes, ever fitted to any production road car, ever made, in the Universe, ever.

I trust it pulls up well.

They both look amazing! Loving the satin wrap. I had contemplated a Matt paint before ordering and realised unless I went exclusive paint I couldn’t have it.

Agree with you 2 Shan. I was dead set on an aftermarket exhaust when I picked the car up, but it seems to have got a little louder and deeper now with 1000 or so miles on it. Still a consideration but given its not going where much at the moment then it’s not a priority

Vectra - love the Ara Blue, really stands out.

A month in, mine has really grown on me. It’s bloody quick, smooth and the technology is bang up to date. I loved my C7 performance but this one is better in every way

Let’s hope we all get to drive them more soon! Mines very clean and has been sat on the drive being washed on a regular basis

Yes the Urus has the same brakes and does a great job these perform really well too but haven’t really had a chance to play with it properly.

Cheers Lem

Been playing with the RS settings and exhaust note. Sure it’s getting nicer with the mileage.
Needs a trip across country or Europe! end of the Summer by any luck.

Glad yous are loving your new cars guys, they both look amazing, its good to know that the exhaust note changes in time as I would like mine to be a little bit louder.
Doesn't the 4 wheel steering make it feel smaller than it is,its feels just as agile as my rs4 I had before.
I love how you can have it in comfort or efficiency and you can't hear the engine at all and at the press of a button it bursts into the sounds of savagery.
Just take the long long route to and from Tesco's.

Agree with you re the steering. The car doesn’t feel big or cumbersome at all. Really nice feel to it’s handling and very manoeuvrable.

@Paul4321 I went to Tesco yesterday, it's about 3 miles away, got 'lost' on the way back by 30 miles!

If anything the 4 wheel steering has caught me out a few times as it turns so fast on slowish corners but it really helps to make it feel like a smaller car.
I'm still unsure what the best steering setting is for standard driving, too much choice is a bad thing for me.

Loving the ara blue,it really stands out in the sun.
Sometimes I use the auto settings as they are quite intuitive at working it out for you.
You'll soon get used to the 4wheel steering, its so much better than the feeling of a big car dragging its arse around.i test drove a new 992 911 with 4ws and it was easily the best handling, stable at speed car I've ever been in,it also makes a big difference parallel parking too.

Hi 2 5HAN I'm loving the direction you've went with yours, have you binned the original wheels.i previously had a B9 rs4 in mythos black and I loved the colour when I first got it but found more and more swirls on the paint every time I washed her,and changed the car after only 7 months and lost loads on it.
Its interesting to see the suspension components with the wheel off too, even with your hand there the photo doesn't do it justice regarding the size of the brakes, they are monstrous!!!

I noticed Akrapovic had a post on Instagram today that pre-order of the C8 exhaust system will be available in May....however no price or proper pictures of what it would look like
