Any pointers on insurance companies given its £100k+ car, most normal companies shy away

Cheers

When we came to insure my wife's TT last year, Sainsbury's refused to renew as they would no longer underwrite the car, yet renewed my PE, just under £400.

Are you putting the value of the car as the purchase value or what it is once you drive off the forecourt ? Ie over 100k or just under

I started looking into this and i'm struggling to find insurance because of the value and the fact that i am 34 and live in london.

Best quote i have been given on Compare the marker for £3300.

Does anyone have any recommendations for insurance?

LVI insurance - £743 but had to have tracker fitted. Used Compare the market to do an initial search. My previous car was with LVI, went to change to the RS6 on the same policy and they wanted a lot of money on top of the current policy, so cancelled it and started a new one for the RS6 (this was their advice)

Its similar sort of price as my C7 performance was so not much in it. Postcode and where its parked will obviously have a big impact. Car is listed on the policy at over £100K

Im with LV now on y SQ7 and they dont have an issue with it. When i have gone online to get a quote for the RS6 they dont seem to be interested. I was thinking that im going to start contacting a couple of local brokers.

Wish me luck haha

Why don’t you need to add the value of the car? I thought they all asked

I’m not too sure, they didn’t ask the value of the car.
I’m not going to complain if they give me a competitive quote.

That’s a bit short sighted.

I don’t know why folk look for the cheapest insurance for a 50k car let alone a 100k car.

What’s important is the quality of the product and the level of cover. If you claim for complete loss what’s the payout? That’s what matters.

It’s more about not getting ripped off by the insurance company. I’ve been quoted between 2k to 9k for the same cover.

I have found someone who gives the same cover that costs less, I don’t see why you wouldn’t wanna pay less for the same cover lol

Agreed.

For us I think all but the lotus (too specialist and tuned) are with LV

Had to claim when I hit a deer in Mrs old Porsche. Very efficient service and had no quibbles going to the repairer of my choice as opposed to their first

However there are so many variable so pretty pointless asking on her to be honest
