Build Slots / Dates
Re: Build Slots / Dates
Based on your experiences, how long does it take from placing an order to getting a built week confirmed ?

Re: Build Slots / Dates
I think it should be almost immediate as the configurator is live with the dealers and it feeds back to them with dates
Re: Build Slots / Dates
Had an update from my dealer. Mines being PDI'd as we speak. PPF company is picking it up next Tuesday so hopefully collecting w/c 17th Feb. Just read a new review on Pistonheads which is overall positive. Looking forward to actually getting it!

Re: Build Slots / Dates
Has anyone placed an order from Audi Birmingham?
If so, when have you been told to expect delivery?

Re: Build Slots / Dates
I have been told build week is wk16 then another 3/4 weeks before it arrives at the dealer so looking at mid-May at the earliest! I was told Feb/March when I placed deposit in August 2019 so not happy especially as I know quite a few people are starting to receive them now.
Re: Build Slots / Dates
Do you have an order number that you can check online and when the order was placed?dilz87 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 11:00 pmI have been told build week is wk16 then another 3/4 weeks before it arrives at the dealer so looking at mid-May at the earliest! I was under the assumption that the orders opened in November and anything prior were a pre order to secure a build slot but seems like your dealer didn’t do

I dont you know, no official paperwork. I put down £500 in August the day it was unveiled then in Nov I paid another £500 and was told spec would lock first week of Dec! I have dealt with that sales person numerous times before. Initially I didn’t want to use that dealer again because of several issues I had with staff from there but thats a different story! Has everyone had order numbers?
Re: Build Slots / Dates
I placed my order with my local dealer 2nd week in November and locked in the spec as they had it on the internal system but not on the public configurator. I had my order number 2 days later. If they are giving you a build date/week then you will have a order number and you can check on myAudi.dilz87 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 11:24 pmc8rs6 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 11:16 pmDo you have an order number that you can check online and when the order was placed?dilz87 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 11:00 pmI have been told build week is wk16 then another 3/4 weeks before it arrives at the dealer so looking at mid-May at the earliest! I’m going in tomorrow or Friday, hopefully tomorrow.
What if the order date was indeed a late one, any advice?
Re: Build Slots / Dates
Once you have the order number MyAudi will tell you the date it was officially ordered so they won’t be able to hide that.
If it was late I would be extremely annoyed with the dealer especially as you had pre-ordered so early.
You also know quite a few people here ordered in mid November and the cars have arrived or are on their way. So if they failed to order your car then they have caused you a significant delay.
Pretty impossible for them to speed up the build of your car, so I would demand a sizeable discount. We know they have the ability to do so. Ultimately threaten to go to Audi UK with a serious complaint and do so if required. I have found Audi UK to be very reasonable in these sorts of circumstances.

Re: Build Slots / Dates
Really !? Complain about what. If they have put on the order form an actual delivery date then yes maybe and Audi will put you in a car until yours arrived but if not then it will turn up when it turns upgiles wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 8:32 amOnce you have the order number MyAudi will tell you the date it was officially ordered so they won’t be able to hide that.

There is no correlation between order dates and received dates.
The dealer systems for updates is useless. Quite often the dealer system will say it is at a certain point, even abroad, and the car turns up on a transporter ready to go.
I agree the system is crap but that is what it is and always has been with VAG group cars
Having said that on one of my new lotus they even managed to lose that between factory and dealer and that was only about 200 miles away.
Scary when you think how many emails you get when you order a toothbrush from amazon to say where your package is and yet a car worth a few Bob no idea.
You just have to sit there and ride it out

Re: Build Slots / Dates
Personally i would phone Audi UK and have a moan. Surly if you have ordered a car you would have some sort of paperwork. Receipt for the deposit, a printout of the order with the spec etc..dilz87 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 12:29 amc8rs6 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 11:29 pmI placed my order with my local dealer 2nd week in November and locked in the spec as they had it on the internal system but not on the public configurator. Re: Build Slots / Dates
First port of call is the dealer. AUK are pretty powerless, all they will do is mediate.
Re: Build Slots / Dates
Waiting on my order number so can check the actual date it was ordered.

Got the order number and registered online, logged in but there is no mention of an official order date etc..
I have asked the dealer to send me actual proof of when the car order was sent.
All I see is the picture below-
