Help on Commissioning Custom Wheels

Post by Big.Boss » Fri Jun 06, 2025 6:57 pm

Hi all,

We're currently getting work done on two RS6s as a project to commemorate two moments in the badge's history: the swansong for the V10 in the last sedan (the C6) and the last pure petrol avant (the C8). Both are being worked on to match in several ways, and one of the main features that will tie them together will be the wheels. The initial idea is:

C6 - wheel 10.5x21 +32 and tyre 275/30-21
C8 - wheel 10.5x22 +8 and tyre 295/30-22

Both are running steel brakes, in case it makes a difference; we figured 21" on the C6 and 22" on the C8 would be appropriate without going for paper tyres, sacrificing ride comfort and getting too stiff.

The question really comes to width and offset; the target look is "poking out of the fenders", the more aggressive protruding stance that usually people use spacers for (without using spacers) and to get the deepest lip/dish possible.

We were wondering how much further than 10.5 we could go, if we could even go staggered with wider at the back than the front, and where the appropriate offset would be for that max distance between the mount and face. (One consideration was how the Quattro system would react to potentially different weights front and back, but we were told that a spun mass wouldn't affect either the C6's or C8's systems)

These are neither show cars nor track cars, they'll be daily drivers with kids in the back, so safety is still more of a consideration than the post might suggest.

The rims will be commissioned custom so certain constraints are not there.

Any and all comments are welcome, we're hoping to get all the help and input we can get to nail down the perfect result for both cars.
