It is underwhelming full stop, let alone the dire wheel choice.

Yeah there's no way I'd pay 2k for any of those optional wheels.

Is it me or has the Audi RS world gone mad? I had an RS5 and loved the styling and then an RS4 and loved the styling and now there's crap styling crap wheel design and small engines with fake sound, I seriously think its time to look at other manufacturers and I never thought I would say that! I am seriously disappointed with the Audi offerings

Couldn't agree more fella..
Just seen one in the flesh in Monaco yesterday. I know it's been said before with the new RS3, about it not looking any different to a A3 s line.. But the 5 is really lacking any stealth presence.. And as for the wheels, looks like they have just stuck some on from 10 year old jap motor...noticed as well it had these stupid little air ducts either side of the rear lights. May even have had the same on the fronts.. But had lost interest by then.. Not a winner on the looks front..IMO..

What you say at the start of your comment makes no sense...you criticize something for looking too like the normal version, then criticize something for not having enough stealth? surely looking like a boggo standard 1.4 petrol is as stealth as it can get?

and the RS5 just doesn't look like the normal A5, yep the shape is the same, and the interior is different, but the front, the arches, the rear all stand out from the normal or even the S5. get a picture of them side by side and you'll see what I mean.

fair enough mate.. You think it's a winner.. All about opinions. May look different to a s5 side by side in a pic.. Lol. I was personally disappointed when comparing it to previous RSs actually seeing it in the flesh ( the b7 b8 c5 6 and 7.. And the previous 5). I am getting old .lol..so good a new crop of buyers find the package appealing..👍🏻

Nope, not particularly enamored by it myself either. Mostly due to what you've said above, and the engineered sound...much prefer my V8...

My point is, a lot of people say it looks the same as an A5/S5, of course it does it's the top version of that product line, but B8 RS5 looked the same as a B8 A5, same with the earlier RS's...a few subtle styling hints tell them apart, as they do here...just unfortunate those hints look like something you'd get from Halfords, or all across your current gen hot clio/corsa, or worse - a civic type R

I had a look at the new RS5 yesterday and in my opinion as I thought it is seriously disappointing, there is no way I would even consider one, I had the old shape RS5 and RS4 Avant B8 and loved the looks and real noise of both, the new one reminds me of a toy car and I can see no point in waiting for the new RS4 either as I am sure it will be the same.
Something has gone seriously wrong with Audi styling recently and having had Audis for over 20 years I am afraid its time to look elsewhere! but where?
RS4 and RS5 with a 2.9 engine (all be it more powerful), It seems wrong to me, guess I am getting old and stuck in my ways. and where did they get that pricing from?

Sorry Audi its time for us to part company.

Sat in one yesterday and actually liked it!

If it was £65k with options I'd have one in a hearbeat but sadly my configurator came out @ £90k!

How they can charge so much for carbon when it's standard on the M4 (it's main rival) is ridiculous!
