Enthusiasm may be dampened by the fact that the B10's are out.
No RS4 yet but the S4 was announced this week (now called S5) with a 24hp mild hybrid engine. That is 24hp extra from the electric motor (small 48V battery). So the RS5 (new name for RS4) will be getting at least a 24hp boost because the RS must surely be a hybrid too.

Yes, I guess the new RS will be less than a year away then… with hybrid the potential for even more power is there. But the 25 has the trick suspension and improved exhaust.. will they carry that over I wonder?
Thing is it’s so over priced it will probably drop like a stone in value. Even with limited numbers…
Then again, what’s going to happen when speed limiters become mandatory and you can’t override them like you can now? Horrible thought…

The current car does have a bit of lag when you try and nip across the lights and stuff like that. I think an EV could really help with the lag. On the other hand it could be an abomination.
I am reserving judgements until the road tests are in.

From what AMG have done to their 2.2tonne C63S E and BMW M to their new 2.5tonne M5, I’m guessing RS5 Avant won’t be lighter than 2tonne. Quite possibly as heavy as C63S E.

Weight distribution will improve due to battery(or a capacitor?) and motor integrated diff at the back, though.
